We have carved a niche amongst the most trusted names in this business, engaged in offering comprehensive range of Wear & Abrasion Steels, Chute Liners, Wear Resistant Liners. Abrasion resistant, modular, high- wear material to line belts, chutes, and bin impact areas, these wear liner products are the longest lasting, most cost effective in the industry. These products are high strength low alloy steel for use in applications involving severe wear, impact and abrasion.
Reading the claims: “The longest lasting, most cost effective in the industry” and “most trusted” are the original’s statements. Wear life and cost depend on the material handled, the impact level and the hardness chosen, so compare grades for your duty.
hardox® Plates AR400 /AR500 OR HB400 BHN OR HB500 BHN HARDNESS Plates are also known as wear plates which are designed to last longer than standard mild steel. The most common stiffness levels in the category are 400 and 500. The mixture of stiffness, potency and robustness makes it stand up to extreme wear. This can substitute expensive wear products like elevated chrome white iron and hard-faced overlay plates. Even though it is too dangerous, it can be cut, repaired, milled and drilled using standard workshop practices.
Trademark: Hardox® is a registered trademark of SSAB, as the Company Profile notes; Champak Industries is not affiliated with SSAB. “Stiffness” means hardness, “potency” means strength and “robustness” means toughness. The sentence “Even though it is too dangerous, it can be cut, repaired…” most likely means that although it is very hard, it can be cut, repaired, milled and drilled with standard workshop practice; hard plate needs suitable tools and the mill’s preheat and cutting advice.
Features
- Compact design
- Longer working life
- Superior chemical resistance and corrosive resistance
- Excellent Cold Bending & Welding Properties
- Through Hardened for Long Wear Life
- Flat Clean, Shot Blasted and Primed Finished Products

How the Five Cutting Services Differ
Champak Industries lists five cutting and wear-part services. The table summarises each from its own page; the capacities are as each page states them.
| Service | What it covers | Capacity or use (from the pages) |
|---|---|---|
| PLASMA | Plasma profile cutting of carbon, low and high alloy steels | Up to 64 mm carbon and 50 mm stainless; cutting area 15000 × 3000 |
| WEAR PLATE CUTTING | Cutting wear and high-strength plate, full sheets or cut to order | Plate from 3 mm to 4 in thick |
| LINERS | Wear liners made from 400 HB and 500 HB plate for bulk-handling conveyors | Conveyor, skirt and loading-area liners |
| BLADES | Classifier and blade parts, with CNC plasma profile capabilities listed | Up to 300 mm thick, 12000 mm long, 3500 mm wide |
| WEAR STEELS (this page) | AR 400 / 500 and HB 400 / 500 wear plate, chute and wear-resistant liners | Dump bodies, conveyors, chutes, crushers, mining |
The Plasma Cutting page and the Wear Classifier & Blade Cutting page list different plasma capacities. Confirm the thickness, size and material of your part when you send the drawing. See Cutting Services for the overview.

Wear & Abrasion Steels, Chute Liners, Wear Resistant Liners: Frequently Asked Questions
01What are wear and abrasion steels?
High-strength low-alloy plate, usually in 400 and 500 hardness classes, designed to last longer than mild steel under severe wear, impact and abrasion.
02Which grades does the page name?
AR 400 / AR 500 and HB 400 / HB 500 BHN, with a reference to Hardox-type wear plate.
03Which applications are listed?
Dump truck bodies, conveyors, chutes, loading buckets and bulldozers, crushers, mining, recycling equipment, and lifting and agricultural equipment manufacturing.
04Can wear plate be cut and welded?
The page says it can be cut, repaired, milled and drilled with standard workshop practice; hard plate needs suitable tools and the mill’s preheat and cutting advice.
05Is wear plate corrosion resistant?
No. The page claims chemical and corrosion resistance, but quenched wear plate is not a corrosion-resistant steel; specify a coating or another material if corrosion matters.
06What can wear plate replace?
The page says it can replace expensive wear products such as high chrome white iron and hard-faced overlay plates.
07Which certificate should I request?
An EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate for the plate showing grade, heat number, chemistry and mechanical properties.
08How do I get a quotation?
Send the drawing, material and grade, thickness, quantity, destination and required date through the enquiry form, by WhatsApp or by phone on 0982 0944 724.
