Alloy 825 plates or alloy 825 (USN N08825) is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium. It became advanced to provide superb corrosion resistance in each oxidizing and decreasing environments. The alloy is immune to chloride stress-corrosion cracking and pitting. The addition of titanium stabilizes alloy 825 in opposition to sensitization in the as-welded situation making the alloy immune to inter-granular assault after publicity to temperatures in a range that could sensitize un-stabilized stainless steels. The fabrication of alloy 825 is typical of nickel-base alloys, with cloth being easily formable and weld-able through a spread of techniques.
